MICHAEL DUNFORD QUITS BIRMINGHAM CITY
I got a phone call from longstanding friend Michael Dunford to say he had quit his job as CEO at Birmingham City.He is not talking offically about why but you can guess.The Blues owners are different to say the least.He has not had much luck after being made redundant at Plymouth last summer.Michael,who I have known since his Derby County days in the 70's did a fine job at Everton and will be a good asset to whatever proves to be his next club.

Why did he leave? Is something going on behind the scenes? Will Alex have any money to spend in the summer? And what a terrible time for this to happen as Michael was in the middle of all sorts of negotiations involving current contracts and looking for new players. He told me on Saturday that the Blues had limited transfer funds and that they were looking at European Bosmans. The future does not look rosy...
